The 2nd week back at the Ladybird saw the numbers at 5.
With the numbers at a smaller value than normal, a single 5 player game was opted for. This saw the return of the racing game Hare & Tortoise. The game was a tight run event with Tobias and Neil crossing the finishing line together, leaving the extra carrot carried by Neil to give Tobias the overall win.
Next the group moved on to a few rounds of "No Thanks!". This was a game about picking up the lowest score from a deck of cards numbered 3 to 35. Players do this by either placing a -1 score token on the card and passing, or taking the card to complete sets of numbers. Peter M won the 3 rounds in the end by 20 point difference.
Finally the 4 remaining members of the group played the word association game Codenames. Players must pick from a board of 25 words, based on a word and number clue. As an example "Magnify 2" players would guess twice on words like "Telescope" and "Disease", but not "Mole" even though some players may think they need glasses. Jon was able to win the games with final clue of "Beer 2", allowing reasonably easy links to "Root" and "Europe".
Final Scores:
Hare & Tortoise:
1st: Tobias
2nd: Neil
3rd: Jon
4th: Peter H
