This week at the Ladybird was an asymmetric fair with initial plays of Specter Ops and Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game.
The Specter Ops group took the form of Jon playing an agent trying to steal information from a top secret facility. With the other 3 players taking on the role of hunter characters, trying to capture the agent before they can complete 3 objectives and then exit the facility. Each character the player undertakes has unique powers; as an example David's cyber wolfman character "The Beast" does extra damage when in melee range and is also able to sense if the agent is close by. Player powers aside, the games main mechanic is the hidden movement of the agent; in which the hunters only catch sight of their target upon it passing there line of sight. Jon's agent proved unusually lucky in the early game with the hunter players perpetually rolling 1s, meaning he took no damage. With 2 objectives completed by the agent, Jon's luck finally ran out after being cornered and then left to deal with "The Beast" at close range, who was presumably quite angry at all this running about.
The Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game group saw Phil taking charge of a horde of zombies verses the survivors Neil and Tobias. The early game proved difficult for the survivors with Phil employing fast moving zombies to limit the humans ability to search for items to aid their escape. The final stages of the game still looked good for an undead victory with with 3 survivors dead, however the remaining humans were able to find the final car parts they needed and escape for the win.
Finally the night was rounded out by a few rounds of 6 nimmt!, with David and Neil both achieving very low scores.
Final Scores:
