Breaking up into two 4s; my group settled in for a game of Village. This game adds a twist to the worker placement genre by giving your meeples a limited life span. The game can go quite midsummer at times in fact, due to the most famous meeples granting more victory points in death. Phil's strategy of a little of everything proved the best, winning the game by 14 points.
Our other four players sent their time vying for the favour of the ancient Greek gods in a game of Cyclades. The game ended with most players close to victory. However, it was Matt who won the day by building the last city.
With Tobias and Andy leaving for the night, Phil and I had a game of Glenn More. Set in the Scottish Highlands, this game is about building the most efficient settlement by laying building titles. The game offers a number of ways to win; you can sell goods, create a monopoly on whisky, own landmarks, promote leaders or simply just generate money. Phil was able to build a bustling collection of dorfs winning the game on 68 points.
With the ancient gods in check, our Cyclades players moved on to Zombies with a game of Dead of Winter: A Crossroads Game. The players proved unsuccessful in this play through, even with the help of one gun-toting "Sparky the Stunt Dog".
