The penultimate game of the period was Evolution (Pete will be pleased at a repeat play of a game), a BBG favourite but with the addition of the Flight expansion. Flying carnivores can discard cards to perform attacks on species they couldn’t normally and flying herbivores can pick food from the cliff – a new play area. The new expansion seemed to increase the complexity of interactions between cards and the addition of event cards seemed to increase the amount of pre-turn processing of card powers.
The evening was finished by a game of Hanabi (another repeat performance.) Initially this seemed to be proceeding perfectly but perhaps we were a little hesitant in placing down cards and when we finally realised that we had reached the end of the game our score was only 14.
