This week saw 8 of us splitting into 2 groups of 4. Aaron taught Galaxy Trucker to David and the two Neils while Jon, Emma, Peter M and I played Stone Age, a virtual rematch of an earlier play a few weeks ago. It was Neil (the younger) who continued his fine form coming out victorious. Meanwhile, Jon continued his recent form complaining loudly that he was definitely going to win this time and would in fact struggle to reach 100 points. For once, our Princess was correct...twice! I came out with a slender victory over my namesake, Peter M, and Jon brought up the rear with exactly 100 points!
We then witnessed a Bromsgrove Board Gamers record as Roll for the Galaxy became the first game played for 4 consecutive sessions. It also witnessed a first win for David 'Bean Counter' Ovenden, the owner of the game.
The Stone Age group then played Machi Koro with the Harbor expansion for the second time; attempting to balance the game out a little, we used an unofficial 3-deck variant. Actually, all this achieved was a dominant one-dice strategy by all players for pretty much the entire game. Jon did well to catch and overtake Peter M for a close win.
And lastly, Neil, David and the two Aarons brought Nexus Ops for another play. Bad light ended play a little early (that's a cricket joke sports fans) but David claimed his second victory of the night by a convincing margin.
